A Week in the Life of a Mobile Mechanic
This week was an interesting blend of strategic planning and digital creativity, a bit different from the usual hands-on repairs. Here's a glimpse into what it was like.
Monday: Planning and Conversations
The week kicked off with strategy sessions with Kevin, our CMO. We brainstormed updated post ideas and developed a forward-looking plan to increase our leads and overall presence. I also had a conversation with a customer in Slidell, Louisiana, about a potential catalytic converter replacement. However, the cost might be prohibitive for them, so we're still discussing options.
Midweek: Digital Focus
With no on-site jobs lined up, my focus shifted to enhancing our digital footprint. I began working on blog posts aimed at helping our customers understand the ins and outs of the industry. This shift not only keeps our clients informed but also builds a strong online presence for our business.
Ad Campaigns and Yard Signs
Our new ad campaign on Facebook and Instagram launched this week. It's been quite surreal to see ads for my company pop up as I browse online. These ads are part of our broader effort to reach more customers and improve our brand visibility. Another exciting development was the arrival of our yard signs. They look fantastic and will play a key role in our local marketing efforts. We placed them around Mandeville and Covington, Louisiana.
Saturday: A Rescheduled Appointment
Today, I had an oil change and a door handle repair scheduled with a customer in Mandeville, Louisiana, but they had to reschedule due to a parade—only in Louisiana. It's all part of the job—flexibility is key.
Reflection
While this week was slower in terms of hands-on repairs, it was productive in other ways. Building a strong digital presence and planning for future growth are just as crucial as the repairs and maintenance we do. It’s all about balancing different aspects of the business to ensure we’re ready to meet our customers’ needs, whether online or on the road.
