DAY IN THE LIFE

Monday: Tools and Troubleshooting

Monday kicked off with a bang as I bought a ½ drive ultra torque impact wrench. This powerhouse tool is going to make my life a lot easier! I also lined up a diagnostic on a Buick Enclave that's been having EVAP issues. In between working on editing videos for our socials, I scouted out some tools for upcoming summer jobs, including an engine hoist, AC recovery machine, and AC scale. It's always exciting to find just the right equipment!

Tuesday: Rescheduling Frenzy

I had two jobs planned for Tuesday: an oil change and door handle fix, plus the diagnostic inspection on the Buick Enclave. Unfortunately, the day took a wild turn. My kid had an explosive accident that needed urgent attention, so I had to reschedule the oil change. Then, the customer with the Buick had to reschedule because her kid came down with the flu. Fingers crossed for a speedy recovery! I also scheduled to pick up an engine hoist and stand on Friday to work on my wife's SUV and the Grand Am. Messaged about an AC recovery machine too—keeping busy!

Wednesday: Double Duty

Today was one of those days where I had to juggle my other job along with my mechanic work. We dealt with some payment and account issues that cropped up during our Meta ad campaign. It's a bit of a headache, but totally worth it. On a lighter note, we posted the video of a brake job with a funny thumbnail inspired by Bob Ross—Kevin thought the whole scene sounded like him, so we ran with it!

Thursday: Ad Adjustments and AC Prep

There was a mix-up with a scheduled job today, so it's moved to next week. I spent the day working on ad audiences and posted a new ad on Meta. Also picked up a cordless vacuum pump for AC repairs—another solid addition to my toolkit. Spent more time getting Kevin added to the Meta business account. Gotta keep those wheels turning!

Friday: Identity Theft and AC Work

Friday threw a curveball when my wife's identity was stolen. That was a stressful ordeal to start the day. Amid dealing with that, I managed to vacuum and recharge the AC system in my car. I didn't record it since my manifold gauges were acting up, and I figured it wouldn't make for great content. I'd planned to get an engine hoist and stand, but they were already sold by the time I got there. Hopefully, I can find another set soon!

Saturday: More Identity Theft Fallout

Saturday was mostly more fallout from the identity theft situation. Managed to fix Kevin's access to Meta ads, so he's back in action. Worked on planning a trip to Pull-A-Part for the rear end of my wife's temporary car, the Mercury Grand Marquis. Spent the rest of the day at my other job—nothing too impressive.

Sunday: A Quiet Day

Sunday was uneventful. Sometimes you need those quiet days to recharge.

Reflection:

While the week was filled with unexpected challenges and creative achievements, from acquiring new tools and rescheduling jobs to dealing with identity theft and creating content, it's all part of the dynamic life of a mobile mechanic.
